Shew! Hard to believe that Resurrection Day is quickly approaching! As the day quickly approaches, I was offered the opportunity to review the Resurrection Beginner from Grapevine Study. I have reviewed their products previously, which you can find them HERE. Needless to say, I was excited to get my hands on this particular study!
What makes Grapevine unique is their multi-level studies. Studies are often geared towards just one age range, which makes it difficult to teach children of multiple ages without breaking the bank. However, Grapevine eliminates this with their multi-level studies so the whole family can study together! If you have used Grapevine studies before, then we’re probably in agreement with the reasoning behind their product. They believe that if they simplify the artwork to stick figures, even a child that is artistically challenged can use their studies to enhance their Bible lessons!
I used the traceable beginner program and want to share a bit about that:
For this particular review I focused on my youngest son, who is at the ripe old age of 7. Honestly, he could have completed a level that wasn’t traceable, but I knew he would enjoy this one. 🙂 Ideally, this study is to be completed over a 4 day period. On the first day of the study, time is spent on the Timeline Review. The second day is the actual lesson. The third day is page two of the lesson. The fourth day is spent on the student drawing pages. What I really like about this is while you are learning deep Biblical truths, the time spent at most is about 30 minutes. The lessons are just right for our younger children’s attention spans! Did I mention this study has 22 lessons in it? Although the lessons are kept around 30 minutes, the older children have to put in work to finish as well.
The teacher’s guide is a wonderful addition! Found inside the guide are instructions on how to complete the lessons step by step. It also includes the teacher narratives. The teacher’s manual also includes key points, goals, and the memory verses. Honestly, this program takes all the prep work out. The most work I had to put forth was printing what I needed.
Since we perform Bible study each day, we added this into our regular school time and Bible studies. Although my youngest was the one benefitting from the stick figuring, my older two children listened to the lesson. They even asked that we increase our Bible studies each day. They love studying and learning God’s Word! What I enjoy most out of Grapevine Studies are the nuggets of information that benefit adults.
If you haven’t used Grapevine and are not sure where to start, here is a chart that I find super helpful:
