CTC Math Review
This post is sponsored by CTC Math. However, all opinions are honest and my own.
I can’t be certain when it was decided that we would be year-round homeschoolers. Honestly, I don’t think it was ever decided. It just seemed to fit our lifestyle and parenting style. When we began homeschooling, Clay wasn’t retired from the Army yet.
In fact, he had several years remaining. We wanted homeschool to reflect God first and foremost, family second, and then education. Naturally, “year-round schooling” seemed the best option. It allowed us to take off anytime Daddy was off.
Yet still gave us plenty of days educating! After Clay retired from the Army, we kept right on homeschooling year round. It still fits not only us, but our kiddos, too.
Sometimes we are finishing up courses in the summer. Other times we’re finished before summer so I fill in the gaps with other material. One subject that I seem to need to do that the most with is Math. I don’t like slacking off on their math skills over the summer.
As summer approaches, I’ve already begun looking into Math curriculum. Here is my list of requirements:
- I don’t want a lot of books.
- I want a program that was easy to use.
- I don’t want to track the progress myself (Hey! it is summer! LOL!).
- I want an all grade inclusive program (Who has time for anything else? Hello! Swim time!).
- I want something that will reinforce concepts so that my kids will grasp what they are learning.
I spent the last two months at homeschool conferences speaking (cough cough, shopping!). However, I still didn’t find what I felt was a good fit for us in this season.
Then along came THE program that seemed to connect with our family, and our needs.
I discovered CTC Math. It meets requirement number one! It is ONLINE! Happy Dance! No books to order, no waiting time for shipment, nothing to carry around. Just open up the computer and away we go!
The program is also very easy to use! It can be accessed anywhere internet connection is available. The way the program is laid out is just super simple to use, but packed full of knowledge!
As I teach CTC Math, I can see what I need to teach, how it will be learned and how my children are advancing through the subjects. Also, it tracks all your children’s progress, Here is a video that shares a bit about the program-
So far we have covered requirements 1-3 of my “must haves.” Next on my list of requirements is a grad inclusive program. Here are the grades CTC Math covers:
- 1st Grade
- 2nd Grade
- 3rd Grade
- 4th Grade
- 5th Grade
- 6th Grade
- Basic Math & Pre-Algebra
- Elementary Measurement
- Elementary Geometry
- Algebra I
- Algebra II
It is so important to me that I have ONE program to use for all the kids during this season. I just wanted to simplify so our summer isn’t spent sitting at the table learning math. CTC Math also helps my kids in how it is taught.
It presents the lesson first, then it allows the child to do the lesson themselves. It also makes sure that it reinforces concepts so that my kids are able to retain the information better.

Here are some other things we love about CTC Math-
- Easy Navigation.
- A perfect mix of colorful videos that are really well done and online practice.
- There is a parent log in and a student log in
- It keeps track of your students progress and emails you a weekly report
I do have one that struggles with Math, but he did not struggle with CTC Math! In fact, I think this is a major win for him! Sometimes kids who you think may be dyslexic need either a different approach or a different program.
For us, this program has helped leaps and bounds in just this short amount of time. One thing I need to note too, when you have a child that might struggle with concentration issues (ADHD) or just not ready for long lessons, this program is fantastic! The lessons are informative and educational, but not overwhelming.
I mentioned using this program to expand our studies to year round. What happens come fall? Well, there is a saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” I think we have found a winner to carry us through!
