While you may not want to admit it, carnival food is the best. It’s some of the most delicious and unique creations that are often just what you didn’t know you were craving. Think massive corn dog on a stick, funnel cakes piled high with ice cream or even a fried twinkie or two as well. Carnival food can be as plain or as unique as you want it!
What I love most about these cheesy potato fries is that you can create something delicious, crispy and cheesy in just a matter of minutes.
Can you use sweet potatoes for this recipe?
Absolutely. If you would rather use sweet potatoes instead, do so! Keep in mind that the sweet potatoes will make this dish a little sweeter. You won’t lose anything in the texture and if sweet potatoes are your preference, they’ll taste just as great!
What other toppings could you add to these Air Fryer Carnival Cheesy Potato Fries?
The sky is truly the limit! Think bacon bits, a dollop of sour cream, black olives, chives, jalapeno slices, or just let your creativity and taste buds take over. If you’re thinking about a topping that you’re unsure about, just start small and try it as a small bite first. Don’t commit yourself too soon and feed the trash can instead.
What if I don’t have a spiralizer to cut up the potatoes?
If you don’t have one, don’t fret. You can still do your best and slice up the potatoes (carefully) as thin as you can. It might take you a few times to get the perfect fry, but perseverance pays off!
I’m so excited to share this air fryer recipe with you! You’re going to love it!

What would be a great main dishes to pair up with these air fryer fries?
Fries pair up perfectly with just about anything. It’s also grilling season so why not pair them up with a good burger, wings, or a nicely seared steak? And if that’s not your thing, you can have them as an awesome side dish to your salad or other light meal.

Can you freeze these air fryer fries?
There’s really no point in putting them in the freezer because they don’t take long to prep beforehand. If you freeze them, you’ll end up with a soggy mess and wasted ingredients.
What is the best way to reheat this recipe?
The quickest way is to pop them in the microwave and put them in for a couple of seconds on a low heat setting. They might not bounce back and be as crispy as they were originally but they’ll still be delicious! Another option is to place them in your oven and heat them low and slow.
If you’re living in the south like me, who really wants to turn on that oven anyway? All that hot air for just a few moments of time? No thanks, if you’re asking my opinion!
