Bible Verses to Pray Over Your Role As A Wife
Serving the role as a wife is a blessing, but it can also be incredibly difficult! The job of a wife takes an incredible amount of work mixed with patience. Although we have some really great days, we will also experience some really rough days. However, when we remain centered around God, He will continue to strengthen us during our difficult times.
“If Momma ain’t happy, ain’t no one happy.” The wife is often the glue that holds the family together. She is powerful and she is strong, yet she is weak and needs protection. Praying for yourself and your role as a wife is not only wonderful, but is a necessity.
You will be amazed at how God can move in your marriage and help give you strength, hope, compassion, love, patience, kindness and the list continues. Be the best version of yourself, be a good wife who is loving and supportive, slow to anger, and feels centered and calm at the end of the day.
Prayer is a powerful weapon and I think it is important to pray over our roles as wives. These prayers will help protect your marriage in so many ways. God promises that He will fill in the gaps in our lives! We are weak and He is strong.
When we pray and give Him control, He promises to protect us, give us favor, fulfill His promises, and supply our needs. Marriage takes work, dedication, prayer, love, and we can receive that all through Christ!
Marriage isn’t valued the way God intended. Divorces seem to be the norm when the going gets tough and the wedding vows are just words to occupy the ceremony.
However, when those vows were repeated on my wedding day, I promised to love and honor in sickness and in health. I didn’t say, “Well, when times get tough, I guess I’ll leave.” We must do all we can to work through the struggles.
Pray that God protects your marriage from worldly things. Pray that God protects your marriage from temptation. Pray that God remains the center of your marriage.
But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3
Praise Your Husband
Make sure to praise your husband. Remind him how much your care for him and show him that you love him. Do small things for him to show him you are thinking of him!
You can write little notes, make his favorite meal, buy him a small gift, pack his lunch. Whatever makes him happy! Just pray that you can remember to praise him for all the big and small things he does.
Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Pray that your husband feels comfortable with you and can trust you! Pray that if he finds himself struggling, he will turn to you for encouragement and comfort.
The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. Proverbs 31:11-12
Words You Speak
Words hold such power and once you say something, it may be remembered for a lifetime. Pray that the words you speak are kind and loving. Pray that your slow to anger and slow to speak.
Pray that you think before you speak. Pray that your words are that of encouragement, faith, hope, love and all things good. Ask for God to help you speak in a kind manner when you are in conflict.
Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Colossians 4:6
Grow in Faith Together
Pray that God helps you and your husband to stay close and grow stronger in your faith together! Growing together in the Lord is a powerful weapon against the sins of this world. When you are equally yoked you can conquer anything that comes your way! Pray that God remains the center of your marriage and in all things you praise the Lord.
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. John 15:5
