One of the happiest days of my life was learning I was pregnant. Those happy days visited my husband and I on four separate occasions. Although one baby is waiting for us in heaven, I wouldn’t trade my pregnancies for anything in this world. Thankfully conception for us wasn’t difficult due to knowing a few tips and tricks,

It is always good to research and know more about our bodies and how it works. It is especially good if you are trying to conceive.

Top Tips When Trying to Conceive

  1.  Learn Menstrual Cycle 101 – When trying to conceive, one of the most important things you can learn is how your menstrual cycle works. Even if you know the basics of menstruation, it’s important to learn how you work. Each woman’s cycle is different. We beat to our own drum and to understand how to conceive, or when having trouble conceiving, you need to track how many days you go between menstruation as well as the amount of days your cycle lasts.
  2. Learn Ovulation Basics – Ovulation is when your ovaries release eggs that can be fertilized by sperm and occurs about two weeks after your period starts. You count this from the first day of your menstrual cycle. This is usually when conception happens. So if you’re trying to get pregnant, it’s going to be important to understand ovulation and to know when you’re ovulating.
  3. Learn about cervical mucus and your fertility – Cervical mucus can help you predict your most fertile days, which is very helpful in predicting ovulation and when you are most likely to get pregnant. When you are the most fertile, the mucous will be slippery, wet, and very well lubricated. It will be thin and watery, like egg white. There will also be more of it than other times of the monthly cycle.
  4. Learn How to Improve Your Uterine Health – When you want to have the best shot at conception, you can do some things to improve your uterine health. For example, you can eat cold water fish that are high in Omega-3 fatty acids. You can also do exercises to strengthen your pelvic muscles. You should avoid holding in your urine when you have to go and you should try to maintain a healthy body weight. You should also avoid sitting for long periods of time. If you have a sedentary job, get up regularly and walk around.
